چکیده
• The interest of the built environment towards material conservation is hinged on reclaiming, recycling, and reuse available raw materials. Strength characterization iron filings glass particles as fine aggregate for lightweight concrete production. Determination optimum replacement level. This study comparatively investigated strength characteristics workability performance partial natural with waste in Fine was replaced 0%, 5%, 10%, 15%, 20%, 25% respectively at a water-cement ratio 0.55. result indicated that an increase percentage reduced slump value concrete, while content increased its workability. showed 20% sand by filing attained strength. Furthermore, samples containing exhibited steady flexural all levels. use production will enhance preservation resources management

Recycled glass as a partial replacement for fine aggregate in structural concrete – Effects on compressive strength
Waste management is becoming a major issue for communities worldwide. Glass, being nonbiodegradable, is not suitable for addition to landfill, and as such recycling opportunities need to be investigated. Due to the high material consumption of the construction industry, the utilisation of waste glass as a partial replacement for fine aggregate in structural concrete is particularly attractive. ...
متن کاملA Study on Recycled Aggregate Concrete Using Ecosand as Fine Aggregate
There is an increasing requirement for the production of concrete globally, due to rapid infrastructure development, leading to shortage in the availability of raw materials, which in turn increase its costs. At the same time, many waste materials are also produced as by-products from various industries and construction sites, the disposal of which cause a major problem. Thus it becomes necessa...
متن کاملUse of glass wastes as fine aggregate in Concrete
Glass is widely used in our lives through manufactured products such as sheet glass, bottles, glassware, and vacuum tubing. Glass is an ideal material for recycling. The use of recycled glass helps in energy saving. The increasing awareness of glass recycling speeds up inspections on the use of waste glass with different forms in various fields. One of its significant contributions is to the co...
متن کاملReactivity in Recycled Concrete Aggregate
Full scale tests with crushed concrete used in sub-bases in roads show that the material has capacity to reharden, very slowly but also after prolonged periods of time. The rehardening process in crushed concrete aggregate has been analysed with a thermogravimetric method, comparing the change in chemical composition in the aggregate when set with water, compacted and hardened. It has been show...
متن کاملComparative performance of concrete pavements with recycled concrete aggregate (RCA) and virgin aggregate subbases
Using recycled concrete aggregate (RCA) as base/subbase for road construction is alternative way to manage construction waste and reduces the need for virgin aggregates. This paper discusses the long-term performance of concrete pavements on RCA granular layer in comparison to concrete pavements on virgin aggregate granular layer. 18 representative RCA pavement sections across Iowa were primary...
